The new product is expected to target the professional market, including productivity tasks and AI calculations that require large amounts of video memory.
According to the news from Chinese source Quantum We, Intel plans to use 12 GDDR6 chips in the Arc B580, codenamed BMG-G21.
The release could happen by the end of the first quarter or the beginning of the second quarter of 2025, but the scarcity of available B580 chips may force adjustments to the launch timeline.
The new model will replace the Arc Pro series, which was previously aimed at professionals, and will be an alternative to the decreasing demand for AMD Radeon Pro and NVIDIA Quadro.
