Kazan Gabdulla Tukai Airport temporarily suspended the reception and departure of air flights on the morning of January 5 for security reasons, according to the telegram channel of Rosaviatsiya representative Artem Korenyako. Corresponding restrictions were also introduced at Izhevsk, Perm and Nizhnekamsk airports.

The airports in Kazan, Izhevsk, Perm and Nizhnekamsk have temporarily suspended operations.

“To ensure the safety of flights of civil aircraft, temporary restrictions on the operation of Kazan airport were introduced this morning. The airport is temporarily not accepting or dispatching flights,” Korenyako said.

According to a representative of the Federal Air Transport Agency, airport employees and aircraft crews “take all necessary measures to ensure flight safety,” which is their “top priority.”

To ensure the safety of civil aircraft flights, temporary restrictions on the reception and departure of aircraft were also introduced at the airports in Nizhnekamsk, Izhevsk and Perm, the Federal Air Transport Agency said.

Previously, restrictions on the operation of Kazan airport were introduced on January 2 for the same reasons, then a similar regime was in force throughout the night. The Inkazan portal noted that even after the lifting of flight restrictions, flights at the airport were still delayed.

On the morning of January 5, the Russian Defense Ministry reported the destruction of 61 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles over the Rostov, Bryansk, Voronezh, Belgorod and Oryol regions. There have been no reports of drone attacks in Tatarstan.
