Nvidia introduced the new GeForce RTX 50 generation graphics cards at the highly anticipated CES 2025 conference. Models with Blackwell architecture are managed by the powerful GeForce RTX 5090, which offers 32 GB VRAM memory and high energy consumption with the new GDDR7 protocol.
The new model, which promises to bring a much higher level of performance compared to its rival, works with 4,000 TOPS AI, while the RTX 4090 has only 1300 of these units. High levels of memory will also make a significant difference; It will speed up frame rendering in games and professional tasks by providing approximately 1.8 TB/s of bandwidth.
Having so much firepower, the RTX 5090 seems to be an ambitious card in terms of consumption. The company has not yet announced the technical specifications, but it is already possible to see a new 12VHPWR connector angled on the side of the motherboard.
In addition to these announcements, Nvidia also announced the arrival of the new GeForce RTX 5080 and GeForce RTX 5070 and their respective laptop models.
The recommended price of the RTX 5090 will be $ 1,999 (about R $ 12,300 in direct conversion), the price of the RTX 5080 will be $ 999 (R $ 6,000), and the RTX 5070 will cost $ 549 (R $ 3,300). All models will be available starting from January.
