The server received an Alphacool radiator and two small 40mm fans connected together to cool the RTX 4090.

In Remnant 2, after the fans were turned on, the motherboard’s power consumption was around 300 Watts. After a few minutes, the water temperature reached 38 degrees and continued to rise. After 5 minutes it reached 45 degrees.

When testing at 450 W (switched to expert 3D Mark Speedway), the water temperature increased, but very slowly. Finally, after 30 minutes, it reaches 59.5 degrees and does not rise anymore. So yes, in theory it is possible to cool the RTX 4090 using small fans.

The experiment ended with the system shutting down. This was because the fans could no longer operate at 100% as before due to overheating.

You can consume approximately 450 watts of energy with a small fan. But it will still be done badly. Moreover, under such a load, the memory temperature rose to 94 degrees in just 30 minutes.
