According to Musk, Tesla plans to produce and test several thousand robots in 2025. “If all goes well, next year we will increase production 10 times. So we plan to manufacture between 50,000 and 100,000 humanoid robots per [2026] year, and then 10 times more next year,” Musk said.

Tesla first presented its humanoid robot Optimus in October 2022. In December 2023, a new model appeared: Optimus Gen 2. It became more human and learned to better control its body.

In November 2024, model and blogger Kim Kardashian posted a video on X where she interacts with the Optimus Tesla robot, which is not yet available to the general public. At his request, the robot danced a Hawaiian dance, folded a heart and played rock, paper, scissors.
