On the afternoon of January 10, Ak Bars Bank customers reported a failure in the credit institution’s services, according to data from the Downdetector.su portal. Over the last hour, more than 580 users reported problems, in the last 24 hours – 3.4 thousand.

Complaints began to arrive at approximately 17:00 Moscow time. Ak Bars Bank customers experienced problems with application, card operation and payment. “The application does not work. “I can’t pay for purchases in the store, it says there are not enough funds,” wrote a Downdetector.su user.

The peak of problem reports occurred at 17:45 Moscow time. Up to that point, 341 users had reported the bug. Most of the complaints came from Tatarstan, Udmurtia, the Nizhny Novgorod region, the Samara region and the Volgograd region.

“Dear customers! We have encountered technical difficulties due to some banking services being temporarily unavailable. Experts are already working to restore the work. All your data, accounts and money are reliably protected and completely safe,” reads a message on Ak Bars Bank’s Telegram channel.

In September 2023, Ak Bars Bank was sanctioned by the US Treasury. In October of the same year, the credit institution’s application disappeared from the Google Play online store and in February 2024 the service was removed from the App Store.

In the Interfax-100 ranking, Ak Bars Bank, in the third quarter of 2024, ranked 16th in terms of assets in Russia with an indicator of more than one billion rubles.
