Roskomnadzor provided the opportunity to accept the proposal to conduct level checks on marketplaces through State Services when selling intimate products, as reported in response to an appeal from Senator Artyom Sheikin.
The measure is aimed at reducing the risk of accidental or unauthorized access of minors to intimate goods. If specialized stores refuse such buyers, then marketplaces do not have the means to check. If relevant legislative proposals appear, Roskomnadzor is ready to study them.
The idea arose after complaints from concerned parents who drew attention to the lack of an effective age verification system on online platforms.
The Russians wanted to make it mandatory to confirm age through “State Services” when purchasing vibrators.
Roskomnadzor is ready to consider the idea of checking age through the State Services on marketplaces when selling intimate goods – this follows from the department’s response to Federation Council member Artyom Sheikin, who proposed the initiative.
