A company that produces trucks and truck engines pleaded guilty in a US court to fraud for illegally selling these engines between 2010 and 2022.

A 2022 report found that Hino falsified emissions data dating back to 2003 for some engines. As part of the deal, Hino will have a five-year trial period, during which it will be banned from importing diesel engines into the U.S. and will be required to “improve its compliance and ethics programs.”
