The prices of laptops from the most important brands have increased the most. Thus, the cost of Asus products increased by 12.3%, Acer gadgets increased in price by 15.4%, and the prices of HP laptops increased by 30.9%. Only one brand fell in price: Apple, whose cost of devices fell by 7.5%.

According to electronics sellers surveyed by Izvestia, laptop prices may increase by 10-20% more this year. Among the reasons, experts mentioned the instability of exchange rates, importers’ problems with logistics and payment chains, macroeconomic uncertainty and other factors.

Further price increases can be slowed by the efforts of large retailers and markets, as well as mitigated by promotions, bonus programs and discounts, an employee of one of the trading platforms told the newspaper. He noted that the increase in the cost of laptops may be proportional to the rise in the dollar due to the market’s dependence on imports.

Furthermore, by early 2025, smartphones and desktop computers had become more expensive. Its value increased by 16% and 21% respectively, added Eldar Murtazin, lead analyst at Mobile Research Group.

In mid-December, M.Video-Eldorado reported that there had been an increase in demand for domestic laptops of 8% in quantitative terms and 31% in monetary terms. Experts attribute this to the availability of parts and software, although they admit that the sales leaders remain foreign models from Asus, Huawei and Apple.
