The principle of operation of the service is the same as that of most dating applications on the market: to find a partner, the user selects the one they like among the profiles available in the feed. In the questionnaire, in addition to information about yourself, you can indicate up to seven interests and hobbies.
Using the “People Nearby” section, OK Dating users can view the profiles of people nearby and send them up to five messages per day. Information about whether an Odnoklassniki user has an account on the dating service will not be displayed on his social network page, the company clarified.
They also talked about OK Dating’s paid features. The VIP option allows you to hide your age, provides an unlimited number of likes, advanced filters for finding a partner and other features. The “Take Off” function raises the user’s profile to the first place in the “People Nearby” section, and with the help of “Praise” you can express special sympathy for a specific user.
The Odnoklassniki dating service is not the first such project for VK. In 2021, the company launched VK Dating. As of August 2024, its monthly audience exceeded 3.1 million people. Additionally, VK owns 28.35% of the Mamba dating service with an audience of about 70 million people in more than 50 countries.
In 2023, Tinder, the largest dating service, stopped operating in Russia. Since then, local companies have been actively developing domestic analogues, including beAmore, Twinby, TON Dating and Yandex Match. According to the operator T2, the leader among dating applications on the Russian market in 2024 was Mamba, with a market share of 39%. In second place is “VK Dating” with a share of 29%, the Tabor service closes the top three with 13%.
