For example, the Moscow branch of MTS sent a message about the increase in the monthly Internet subscription rate at home, TV paid and renting a router from February 1 for 85 rubles. According to the operator representative, the price increase affected a series of file rates of a fixed connection with a small number of subscribers.
Rostelecom also notified customers about the next increase in the cost of service. The company explained that in January, the cost of Internet access increased by an average of 5%. This increase turned out to be lower than the level of inflation and only affected the part of the obsolete rate plans, emphasized the press service, adding that “an additional review of the tariffs is not planned this year.”
Internet prices growth is registered among regional operators. Center, which provides services in the Kemerovo region, as of February 1, increases the cost of several rates by 10-15%. The “Teleos-1” operator, which serves the Irkutsk region, previously announced a change in price policy as of January 1. Among the reasons, the company described the increase in the prices of materials, components, equipment and electricity.
The Minces told Izvestia that they did not notice a significant increase in internet prices at home and paid television, and indicated the lack of consumer complaints. They added that they would continue to monitor the situation together with the Federal Antitropolio Service.
As the TelecomDaily survey, made in the fall of 2024, showed the price of 95% of Russian telecommunications companies to increase their services. The main reason why respondents called the lack of equipment and the increase in their value (66%), the second place was taken by personnel scarcity (55%), the third state adjustment regulation (54%).
