“The production of sweets is carried out on the basis of the EFCO Art Mini-Confectiony in the Belgorod region, equipped with everything necessary to create and make recipes for new products. Over time, the industrial production of sugarless chocolate with a sweet protein will be organized in the EFCO under construction in the Tula region, ”says the report.
The company uses brazzein in chocolate sweets with dried fruits, novatas paste, cherries and rum, raspberries and other additives. The manufacturer also intends to launch a chocolate line. Effko delivers sweets with Brazzein to Moscow, Voronezh, Belgorod and Alekseevka from the Belgorod region. In the future, geography will expand. Kommersant’s press service reported that the company is negotiating on the inclusion of sweets with a sweet protein in the variety of several retail chains.
The EFCO affirms that the sweetness of Brazzeína exceeds a thousand or more times: “If in ordinary chocolate tiles there are approximately 50 grams of sugar, the sweet protein for the same flavor is only needed 0.05 gr. The space released in the recipe can be filled with useful ingredients, for example, dietary fiber.
The president of the victory confectionery, Vitaly Muravyov, told Kommersant that his company tried Brazzein for two years, but “the taste of chocolate and sweets was not the best analogues with sugar or stevia.” The director of the “Soecon” Andrei Sizov analytical center doubts that products with Brazein will be popular in the mass segment due to the high price. Sweet Efco with sweet protein are sold by 1.2-2.7 thousand rubles to pack of six or two pieces.
Rusbrand’s executive director Alexei Popovich said that the demand for healthy sweets in Russia is growing both due to the general desire of consumers for the correct lifestyle and by patients with diabetes.
