The Artificial Intelligence Program analyzes the patterns in the series of Great Ocean data, including information from underwater gliders and satellites collected since 1992. It then creates a “probability map” that shows when and where the whales such as the northern smooth whale can be found. Since only 370 people remain from such whales, it is extremely important to avoid collisions with ships to survive.
The AI tool, which is connected to the whales with environmental factors as water temperature and presence of foods, provides valuable information to make “more effective decisions”.
