The tests confirmed that the monkey was infected with the Herpes virus. Although a man’s infection was known in April 2024, the death of this virus was first reported for the first time after a while. In addition, this is the first example of the disease by Monkey Herpes in Hong Kong.
The virus is usually located between aggressive macraxes in this region and can be transmitted through the bites and saliva of animals. The incubation time is approximately one month and patients first have flu -like symptoms. Mortality is high and reaches 80%of the virus, but people’s diseases, especially cases of death, are rare.
