Apple announced this Friday (15) Apple Music Sessions are private acoustic sessions recorded at streaming service studios around the world.. Performances will also be recorded and made available to subscribers, providing “an opportunity to re-imagine and recreate hits from their catalogs and creative covers of beloved classics.”
For the official release, Apple Music Sessions featured performances by country artists Carrie Underwood and Tenille Townes recorded in Nashville, Tennessee, USA. For Underwood, being in the studio with Apple Music “was a great experience” and is excited to “share these unique, simplified versions of three of my favorite songs with my fans.”
Canadian singer Townes said, “It was really great to understand what it’s like to play my songs live with my band during the Apple Music Sessions performance.” said. He believes the new venue will be “an anchor” for the music community in Nashville and is honored to be a part of it.
Sessions are recorded in state-of-the-art Apple studios with Apple Spatial Audio or immersive audio that creates a cinematic experience with sounds that seem to come from all directions. Apple Music Sessions starts in Nashville with country artists like Ronnie Dun and Ingrid Andress, among others, but is intent on expanding into other music genres.
