Identity control requires authentication such as finger or face recognition, without the ability to use pin code or password as a backup version. This makes access to the device difficult for thieves, because after the smartphone restarts, the data is encrypted. To introduce the function, manufacturers had to rewrite the biometric authentication code, which makes it possible only by updating the operating system.
Brands, such as OnePlus, Xiaomi and others, are expected to add identity control to Android 16 product software.
