A new study showed that the restriction of the food window for 8 hours at any time of the day could lead to a significant weight loss for at least one year. These advantages can be attributed to exactly the 16 -hour hunger window, not by eating time.

As a part of a new job, experts have observed 99 adults who are overweight or obesity for more than 12 months. 50% of the participants were women, the average age was 49 years old, the average body weight index was 32 kg/m2. In addition, the subjects were from Granada (Spain).

Randomly, the participants were distributed to one of the four groups for 12 weeks: with the usual window for 12 hours or more; Early Tre (Eating eight -Saat window starts until 10:00); Late Tre (eight -Saat dinner window that starts after 13:00); Independently selected TRE (eight -Saat window eating). In addition, all groups participated in the training program in the Mediterranean diet.

Body weight, waist circumference and hips in humans were measured at the beginning of the study, after 12 weeks of intervention and 12 months after the end of the experiment. After a 12 -week experiment, average weight loss was observed in a group with familiar nutrition -1.4 kg (-1.5%) and much larger in groups with TRE. Therefore, the participants from the group with early TRE fell by an average of 4.2 kg (4.5%) with late TRE – 3.1 kg (3.5%) and an independent selection – 3.8 kg (3.9%).

In a group with a familiar nutrition, the waist circumference decreased by 1.1 cm and decreased by 1.4 cm after 12 weeks, 4.1 cm and 4.1 cm and 3.2 cm, respectively with 4.1 cm and 4.1 cm and 3.2 cm, respectively in an early Tre, respectively.

12 months after the end of the intervention to the usual diet, the increase in body weight was 0.4 kg. Early and late Tre groups managed to maintain high weight loss compared to the usual nutritional group (-2.2 kg and 2 kg, respectively).
