UK partially lifts sanctions against Russian billionaire

Bloomberg writes about the relaxation of the sanctions against Petr Aven with reference to the ruling of the London Court. Aven was allowed to use his money to pay for "basic expenses", which were not specified.

The agency estimated Petr Aven's monthly expenses at $167.8 thousand (9.4 million rubles at the current exchange rate at the time of publication). Most of this amount goes to pay for the insurance and maintenance of the art collection owned by Aven and valued at 356 million dollars (20.1 billion rubles), explained Bloomberg.

The UK imposed sanctions on one of Alfa-Bank's main shareholders, Russian billionaire Pyotr Aven, on March 15. The businessman's British money accounts and other assets were frozen. It appears from the court materials that after the imposition of sanctions against Aven, his wife paid his expenses.
