In a study published on the Arxiv portal, astronomers envisaged future changes in the solar system when the Sun began to die in billions of years. The expansion of the sun will lead to the absorption of mercury and Venus, and the world will not be suitable for life. However, in this period, the ice worlds such as Europe-Jupiter-Can’s bear become suitable for life due to the glorification of surface ice and create an atmosphere of water vapor. This effect will be possible because of the multi -kilometer ice thickness in Europe.
This temporary change can take several hundred thousand years and potentially create conditions for the development of life. Scientists are particularly interested in Jupiter’s fate, because the upper clouds will affect Europe’s lighting and will turn into enormous and bright water formations that will accelerate the melting of the ice shell in the satellite.
According to the researchers, although most of the water vapor may disappear into space, some can still continue in the European atmosphere and create a temporary window for the potential formation and development of life.
