As a part of the new scientific studies, experts met 1082 colleges in Canada. Participants mentioned food habits, sleep quality, physical and mental health, frequency of dreams, conscious dreams and nightmares, and according to their opinion, the effects of diet and sleep quality effects on dreams.
It turned out that more than 40% of sleep issues depend on what and when they eat. Most of the time, dairy products and desserts were associated with weak sleep and good sleep, fruit, vegetables, vegetable teas.
At the same time, only 5.5% of people believed that diet affected their dreams. This group was more prone to intolerance to Gluten and food allergies.
After the analysis of the data, scientists discovered a strong relationship between nightmares, food allergies and lactose intolerance. Those who believe that the diet could worsen the quality of sleep, probably, suffered from lactose intolerance. This can be explained by the fact that such a tolerance causes gastrointestinal symptoms associated with nightmares.
