Now, doctors use several shirts to assess risks, but they are based on foreign data and they are not always right for Russian patients. In addition, these methods do not take into account the molecular indicators that may indicate possible problems.
Scientists focused on two markers – ST2 protein and peptit kopeptin. The levels increase by overloading the heart muscle. The study showed that the threshold values show high complication risk (36.5 ng/ml for ST2 and 3 ng/ml for copepine).
According to Anton Vorobyov, Associate Professor of Surgu Cardiology Department, observation of patients for four years made it possible to create clear assessment criteria. He noted that a new approach helps to identify patients who need more intense observation and individual therapy.
Development not only predicts complications more accurately, but also allows to personalize treatment. In the future, the method can be combined with technologies for remote monitoring of patients from the risk group.
