In a new study, a team of scientists evaluated the impact of the food system on human health and the environment. Experts concluded that food production threatens five world systems. These include climate, soil, water, nitrogen and phosphorus pollution, as well as anthropogenic pollution (insecticides and microplastic). If everyone on the planet had a healthy diet, we could bring these systems to safe levels and improve the life of humanity.

Scientists estimate that 6.9 billion people consume too much food (especially meat, dairy products, sugar and ultra -processed foods), while 3.7 billion people have difficulty in accessing healthy foods. Therefore, the report proposes to monitor the planetary health diet (PHD). These dietary fruits, vegetables, nuts, legumes and whole grains emphasize.
