India is rapidly increasing spending on enterprise technology and is becoming a magnet for international AI companies. The country, which has approximately one billion internet users, has become an important market for startups offering chatbot and artificial intelligence services.
Anthropic states that India has already become the second largest market for chatbot Claude, a rival of OpenAI ChatGPT, which is known for its programming capabilities. Both free and paid versions of Claude are available in the country, but local prices have not been introduced yet.
The office to be opened in Bangalore, India’s technology center, will be the company’s second office in the Asia-Pacific region after Tokyo.
