The U9 Xtreme completed the 20.8km lap in just 6 minutes 59.157 seconds, five seconds faster than the previous record. This is the first time an electric car in this class has covered the track in under seven minutes. The record car was driven by German racer Moritz Kranz.
The Hypercar is built on the 1,200V e4 platform and is equipped with four electric motors that spin up to 30,000 rpm each. Total power is approximately 3,000 horsepower. The race also featured an improved cooling system, carbon ceramic brakes and special GitiSport e·GTR2 PRO tires.
