According to Samsung’s head of customer experience Jay Kim, the new glasses will combine “style, comfort and practicality” and will be part of the Android XR ecosystem.
Samsung targets different target audiences with each company. In collaboration with Gentle Monster, stylish, premium eyewear is created. In collaboration with Warby Parker, a more accessible version for the general public.
The glasses will have smart functions developed with the support of Google. They are supposed to be able to display notifications, navigation tips, data from applications – everything right in front of the user’s eyes. A built-in camera, microphone and speakers are also expected.
The device’s appearance and release date have not been announced yet.
