Developed in collaboration with startup Dephy, Project Amplify is a running shoe that acts as a “second calf muscle.” They have a built-in motor, battery and driver that helps a person walk or run faster with less effort. Nike likens this effect to an electric bike: the shoe does not replace movement, but facilitates it. In tests, participants were able to reduce their running time from 12 minutes to 10 minutes per 1.6 kilometers. The project has been tested by more than 400 athletes, taking more than 2.4 million steps in total.
The second new product is Nike Mind 001 (mule) and Mind 002 (sneakers). Based on research into how the brain works, they feature soft elements that convey sensations of the surface underfoot. According to Nike, this helps improve concentration and reduce stress.
Nike Mind will launch in January 2026, and Project Amplify will be available to the public in the coming years.
