The pits on the Moon were first discovered by scientists in 2009. Since then, they’ve wondered if these holes lead into caves that could be used as hiding places. Of the more than 200 caves discovered, about 16 turned out to be possibly collapsed lava tubes.
Scientists noted that if there is a larger cave in the depths of such a hole, it can maintain a comfortable temperature along its entire length and fluctuate by less than one degree during the entire lunar day. This can be a great hiding place for people.
