ER-Telecom Holding bought 51% of Sharks Datacenter, a Russian software developer in the field of virtualization and hyperconvergence. This was reported in the materials of ER-Telecom. The amount of the transaction is not disclosed.

ER-Telecom needs Sharks Datacenter to continue implementing its data center and cloud services development strategy, as well as to expand its product portfolio.

ER-Telecom is an important strategic partner for Sharks Datacenter and an opportunity to attract new customers.

“The deal is intended to support import substitution and is designed to ensure a smooth migration of ER-Telecom customers’ cloud IT infrastructure from western software solutions to domestic software,” ER-Telecom said in a statement.

ER-Telecom Holding provides broadband Internet access services, telephony, digital TV, access to Wi-Fi networks, VPN, LoRaWAN, video surveillance and integrated solutions based on Industrial Internet of Things technologies. The telecommunications company is the second largest operator after Rostelecom in the broadband Internet segment in Russia.
