Eleven years ago, the new iOS 5 saw the light of day, and it brought the iMessage text messaging app. I remind you that then, in 2011, no one had heard of Telegram, which appeared only two years later, and even WeChat still had the “beta” status and it could not be downloaded just like that.
At that time, among messengers and applications for communication, everything was simple and clear: there is WhatsApp, for a computer there is Skype, and for everything else there are paper letters.
“ICQ» was no longer popular, all kinds of clients on Jabber were popular in narrow circlesso the iPhone owners were glad that the guys from Cupertino made their simple, easy and convenient way to exchange text messages over the Internet directly from the screen of their smartphone, without registration and SMS.

Let’s be honest: iMessage in Russia is not that not very popular, but rather generally not used by iPhone owners. I do not have any of my friends, relatives or acquaintances who would constantly choose this particular application for communication. I will say more, even when I write in iMessage, they ask me to go to Telegram or WhatsApp.
And I could talk about using iMessage, about protecting and encrypting messages in this application, about nativeness, and how to use Memoji. But the simple use of a smartphone does not need this, because even some Viber is a thousand times clearer, more interesting and more convenient for him.
For ten years, Apple has not made a competitive product, for some reason still positions iMessage as a privileged means of communication between owners of iPhones and MacBooks. Against the background of all other cross-platform messengers, this looks at least strange, and at the most uncomfortable.
But we do not pull on a serious focus group, which is constantly monitored and communicates with engineers from Cupertino. What about in other countries?
