The problem is that in Windows 10, unlike other generations of the operating system, you cannot select the default browser directly in the app. You have to go to settings and manually select the browser. Recall that in earlier versions, especially Windows 7, it was enough to press a button and the settings were made automatically.

As mentioned, in the Windows 10 22H2 update, testers discovered an enhanced default browser selection feature. As before, the scanner can be selected by pressing a single button.

At the same time, Firefox and Opera browsers have long supported the one-click assignment of a standard browser. In Chrome, this feature will appear in September when Windows 10 22H2 will also be released.

The browser selection in Windows 11 is the same as in Windows 10, but it is unknown if a fix will be released for this system.
