Apple Wallet is a storage for Apple Card, which can store airline tickets, debit cards and credit cards for the Apple Pay payment system. The wallet also handles Apple Pay Cash and can store loyalty cards, bonuses and more.

In the beta version of iPadOS 16.1 and hence iOS 16.1, Apple will add the ability to completely remove Wallet from the device. It can be downloaded again from the App Store if needed. Currently, Wallet can only be hidden from the home screen. Probably the reason why the company decided to offer this option to users is due to antitrust lawsuits, as its “Wallet” is the only means of payment on the iPhone.

The functionality will be available to a wide range of users by the end of the year.
