HE 2022 VMAs took place over the weekend and a technology presentation was made. Rappers Eminem and Snoop Dogg joined the show with a live performance of the reference song From The D 2 The LBC. metaverses and NFTs.
During the artists’ meeting on stage, the performance showcased most of the music in the “metaverse” along with digital versions of the singers. Also, for a time on the show, they both became avatars of the Bored Ape Yacht Club, the famous non-mushroom coin collection. Check out the full presentation in the video below.
Reviews on social media
While the performance served to bring the concept of metaverses and NFTs to a wider audience, it also received rave reviews for the artists. In addition to the controversy surrounding this market, many VMA viewers complained about the graphics used in the making of the presentation and the rare appearances of actual versions of the singers.

Clip with NFT
The song From The D 2 The LBC, which was released in June, also includes a clip showing the two artists as NFT. Enimem and Snoop Dog’s Dr. Dre shows singers recording in the studio and moving into the digital world.
As with the VMA scene, the video shows Enimem and Snoop Dogg transforming into BAYC NFTs. While Snoop is a broad supporter of projects involving non-tradable tokens, the old Slim Shady bought a monkey from the collection for approximately R$2.6 million.
