Following the unveiling last September, Asus revealed more information about the PA147CDV. This portable 14-inch ProArt monitor weighs 740 grams, making it an ideal secondary monitor for professional use. While the manufacturer has yet to mention a suggested retail price, it looks like the display will go on sale this quarter.
The IPS touch panel combines a 14-inch size with 400 nits of brightness. The 32:9 aspect ratio, which provides a resolution of 1,920 x 550 pixels, is striking. While Asus claims that the srgb and Rec 709 have 100% coverage, their delta E values (color errors) should be less than 2 thanks to factory calibration.
The display offers 10-point touch, plus input via stylus is supported via Microsoft Pen Protocol 2.0. To the left is an Asus dial that can be used to control programs like Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom Classic. Any application supported by the Surface Dial is normally also compatible with the PA147CDV’s jog wheel.
The hinge allows users to instantly adjust the desired viewing angle. In addition, there is a portrait mode, which, among other things, comes in handy when programming. I/O consists of a single HDMI connector and two USB type-c ports that can provide both power and display.
