According to well-known experts, there are at least 5,000 sightings in the world every year that are associated with aircraft with birds, which suggest the speed of modern airliners, which indeed represent very sad consequences.

Against this background, the Obninsk Research and Production Enterprise Technologiya, which is part of Rostec, has developed a special laboratory designed to test the strength of glazing, as well as ordinary power aircraft and helicopters. The proximity setting has already been accredited by Rosaviatsia.

Now Obninsk specialists conduct full-fledged tests of aircraft – their “bird resistance”, resistance to elevated temperatures, as well as reaction, and, based on the test results, issue appropriate certificates.

For example, the resistance of glazing to hazards with birds is subject to a pneumatic installation, in which carcasses with birds with strictly prescribed requirements and dimensions are used in the form of a “projectile” fired at speeds from 200 km / h to 900 km / h into glass. Other key design elements are tested in the same way.

In turn, in tests for strength and fidelity, both on short-term and emergency occurrence of various temperatures ranging from -72 ° C to + 100 ° C, as well as on a high degree of importance arising from the identification of circumstances such as development of the enterprise “Technology”.
