Saudi Arabia has created an international airline to fly to the future city of Neom. The airline organizes flights to the capitals of Europe and Asia.
The amount of investment in the third airline is unknown, but according to Arabian Business, the construction of Neom is estimated at $500 billion, so the costs to the airline may be impressive.
Neom will occupy 26.5 thousand square meters. km and will stretch for 170 km along the Red Sea coast near the borders of Jordan, Egypt and Israel. People will be able to settle in the metropolis no earlier than 2030, but the territory of the future city already has its own Neom Bay airport.
You can reach Neom from Riyadh and Dubai, and the flights are operated by the national airline Saudia and a separately created RIA company.
The Neom project was announced on October 24, 2017 by the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman al-Sud. The automated city would be outside “existing state standards” and run entirely on “clean” power, the prince said. According to him, in a high-tech city “there will be no place for everything traditional.”
At the same time, the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) announced its participation in the creation of the “city of the future” Niom in Saudi Arabia. The Fund will involve Russian high-tech companies in the project.
