Revolut, a London-based fintech startup owned by billionaire Nikolai Storonsky, has confirmed a large-scale data breach of “tens of thousands” of users as a result of a cyberattack. TechCrunch reports it.

Revolut discovered the leak on September 10 and sealed it on the morning of September 11.

According to the company, more than 50,000 customers were affected by the hack, including almost 21,000 in the European Economic Area. The startup sent notifications to all those affected.

Revolut did not say what kind of data it accessed, but said the attackers did not gain access to the money.

Revolut was founded in 2015 by Nikolai Storonsky and Vlad Yatsenko. The company offers banking, wealth management and investment services.
