It’s not uncommon to hear that Instagram has once again copied some of TikTok’s features. Actually, just a few days ago we told you about one of them. Now, however, the situation seems to have changed. And the fact is that TikTok decided to copy the most basic features of Instagram: publication of photographs and their extensive descriptions.
Called “Photo Mode”, TikTok presents us with a new feature. With the latest update, you will be able to upload multiple static images in one post and, in addition, supplement them with a signature up to 2200 characters. Thus, we see how the fashion social network is trying to adapt to a trend that Instagram has begun to eliminate.
Of course, although they were inspired by the Meta social network, TikTok managed to bring its own twist to the matter. For example, users can also add music to their posts, giving a new dimension to their shared photos.
Photo Mode is coming to TikTok so you can share your moments with all your followers.

“If you prefer to express yourself in other formats than video, we have launched a photo mode,” TikTok comments on its official blog. This offer will allow you to create a carousel perfect for sharing images with all your followers, and similar to the one we’ve known for years on Instagram. These photos will also be displayed one after the other in a certain sequence.
Of course, each user will be able to decide how fast they scroll through the images you upload.. The latter represents a change in the social network, as TikTok is quite famous for allowing each creator to dictate the pace at which each post is received.
Also, we have longer captions compared to Instagram captions. With a 2,200 character limit, TikTok hopes to “provide them another space to express themselves and connect deeply with others.”
“We know there are all sorts of formats that people use to express themselves on TikTok,” they add in the post. Definitely, it is a feature that adds a new dimension to the social network. Will this be a major blow to the Meta platform? Let no one doubt.
The beginning of the hunger games for social networks
For a long time, we were able to see how social networks began to copy each other. From Instagram taking the soul of TikTok, to Twitter adding features copied from Instagram, only to have them removed later, as was the case with fleets. However, Snapchat has also joined the fray by copying the core features of BeReal, the new fashion app that Instagram was already trying out a few weeks ago.
Today, it seems like TikTok couldn’t resist the trend. Thus, we see what the future of social networks will be: many applications that are copied until they are so similar to each other that it will be increasingly difficult to distinguish them.
