Google Docs announces features for Meet, Calendar, and more

During the Next 2022 event this Tuesday (11), Google announced the news about cloud collaboration services, which are cloud-runable applications like Docs. In addition to text editing software, Presentations, Meet, Gmail, Calendar and others will get new tools.

According to the company, the new features will serve to establish more effective communication between study teams, students and other audiences. Among the innovations, for example, Google Meet will receive automatic framing and transcripts in Chat, personalized emojis and conversation conversations.

Check the news below by each platform that allows collaboration in the cloud:

Google Docs

• building blocks: allows organizations to create document templates with commonly used information;
• Variables: The functionality allows users to create mutable items such as customer names and contract numbers to be changed in single fields.

Google Slides

• speaker emphasis: The innovation will highlight the speaker in Presentations and allow presenters to create a preview so that their video feed appears inside the content rather than next to it.

Google Meet

• Assign conference rooms to themed rooms in Meet;
• Check out slides directly in Meet;
• complementary mode: Companion mode features in Google Meet will come for mobile and meeting room check-in will be added. With the update, people will be able to use any device they want, and soon they will be able to show their own name next to the conference room name.

Google Calendar

• Workplace Reminders: Highlights will help managers encourage people to arrange their workplaces so that co-workers can better coordinate meetings;
• Client-side encryption in Gmail and Calendar: The protection model, now available in Meet and Docs, comes to Gmail and Calendar to strengthen data privacy.

• Data Loss Prevention: Data loss prevention is currently available in Drive and Chrome and is coming to Chat as well. This feature allows administrators to create specific controls to prevent confidential data leaks in real time.
