The Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia opened a case against MegaFon.

As noted in the Federal Antimonopoly Service, the operator increased tariffs for communication services for more than 16.5 million subscribers by an average of 12%. The agency found that the level of compensation has not met the norm since the beginning of the year.

Thus, the FAS has calculated that MegaFon’s cost growth does not match the growth in revenue from communication tariffs. This may seem to “infringe on the interests of consumers.”

MegaFon has already commented on the situation:

We informed the FAS in advance about the use of the cost of tariffs. We are currently in close contact with the agency and the providers of additional documents confirming the possibility of discovery.
