Amazon has become the first public company in the world to lose $1 trillion in market capitalization, writes Bloomberg.
In July 2021, Amazon’s market capitalization reached an all-time high of $1.88 trillion. During the last trading session, the company’s shares fell 4.2% and the company itself fell to $879 billion. Amazon’s capitalization fell below $1 trillion on November 2.
The agency notes that along with Amazon’s capitalization falling, the fortune of its founder Jeff Bezos, once the world’s richest businessman, is also declining. Bezos’s wealth has almost halved, from $194 billion to $109 billion.
The capitalization of the five most valuable companies in the world in total decreased by 4 trillion dollars in 2022, Bloomberg said.
