Australian police chief Reece Kershaw said he would not name those responsible for the attack, but said they had already been identified.

As a result of the cyber attack, 200 GB of customer information such as name and surname, address, date of birth, health insurance numbers, insurance policy numbers, phone numbers, diagnosis and medical procedure codes were leaked from the Medibank database.

This was the second attack by the same hackers. Previously, customers of the Australian telecommunications company Optus suffered from it. 9.8 million customer data was stolen, including passport, driver’s license and health insurance numbers.

“We will be meeting with Russian law enforcement regarding these individuals,” Kershaw said.
