VTB opens up for its clients the opportunity to transfer funds to the CIS countries using the card number of their national payment systems, TASS reports with reference to Svyatoslav Ostrovsky, a member of the bank’s board.

VTB launched transfers by card number to some CIS countries

According to Ostrovsky, such transactions can be carried out using the VTB mobile application or in the VTB Online Internet Bank. For transfers to Armenia, Belarus or Kyrgyzstan, you will need to indicate the card number and the full name of the recipient. You can send up to 300 thousand rubles per month, but not more than 150 thousand. rubles per day. The commission for such transactions will be 1% of the amount, but not less than 50 rubles for each transfer.

At the end of October, the bank launched a transfer service to neighboring friendly countries by phone number. Armenia was the first to gain access to the system. People who have an account with a VTB subsidiary will be able to use the service.

In the fall, VTB also restarted yuan transfers to China, bypassing the SWIFT international payment system, from which Russian banks were cut off as part of the sanctions. In 2023, the credit institution expects to multiply the number of transactions of this type by five.
