Apple has released the first iOS 16.2(a) security patch.
Such updates cause a Rapid Security Response. They are placed separately from the regular firmware when the user is sent from the auto-installation of an updated system.
A test build has been released that does not contain any changes. So Apple is testing the innovation.
You can also disable fast updating (but not all). They are enabled by default for everyone in the menu. Settings -> General -> Software Update -> Auto Update.
As MacRumors develops, such updates will be required faster than standard ones. The software release size is about 100 MB. Only available to beta testers.
