Perm-based company Skolkovo has created the largest 3D printer in Russia. It consists of 90% Russian components and is capable of printing parts up to 4 meters long and 2 meters high, using recycled materials.

Skolkovo resident created Russia’s largest 3D printer

The release of the F2 Gigantry 3D printer by the Perm company F2 Innovations was reported in the Skolkovo press service, where the developer resides.

The granule printer can print pieces of 4x2x1 meters with a productivity of up to 10 kg/hour. For the manufacture of materials, recycled granules can also be used – secondary raw materials. The first custom printer printed parts for aircraft wings.

F2 Gigantry consists of 90% domestically produced components. Similar imported printers cost more than 60 million rubles. The use of Russian components made it possible to reduce the final price of the device several times, Skolkovo noted.

The printer created by the Perm company will help replace imported counterparts and speed up the production of parts that, in particular, will be used in the aerospace industry. The cost of creating them when printed on F2 Gigantry can be reduced by 40 times compared to the traditional manufacturing method, the fund said.
