Steel unmanned aerial vehicles are superior to the capabilities of modern warfare. And if a couple of years ago they were discovered for reconnaissance and adjusting artillery fire, then recently the first revolutions of kamikaze drones capable of destroying ground targets have been discovered.

Israeli defense contractor Elbit Systems has unveiled the Lanius, an autonomous, capable drone capable of carrying three more small drones weighing 1.25 kg each with a payload (devices or projectile) weighing up to 150 grams. Performance consumes a compact battery rated for seven minutes of flight.

Lanius has several sensors, cameras and an Nvidia Jetson artificial intelligence module designed to quickly process information streams with minimal power consumption. All this is obtained by Legion-X software for controlling several UAVs, export in a bundle.

Drones are detected to infiltrate closed facilities and map them with the help of AI. The UAV detects and marks objects, especially windows and doors. As the object expands, an unmanned observer or surveillance control operator.

Having found people, Lanius classifies them according to their purpose into “friend or foe”, “military-non-military”, “armed-unarmed”. In case of danger, the drone offers the operator to hit the target from a variety of sources with one weapon.

An important feature of the strike drone is the ability to covertly stay in an ambush while maintaining control over a desire, for example, a locked door. When the door is opened and a flash appears, the drone prompts the operator to destroy its source.
