Cirrus Logic, which supplies Apple’s iPhone board, said the iPhone 15 Pro offers volume and 3D Touch buttons.

In a letter to the company’s shareholders, the company said that “engagement with a significant presence” is ongoing and that “a new HPMS component for smartphones is expected to enter the market in the future.”

HPMS refers to Cirrus Logic’s high performance mixed signal chips that include tactile drivers for the Taptic Engine.

Cirrus Logic CEO John Forsyth said that the new component should be released “after the second half of the year”, that is, before the release of the iPhone 15 Pro in September 2023.

Apple is adding additional Taptic Engines to the iPhone 15 Pro to mimic touch button apps.
