Vladimir Putin signed the federal law on amendments to the budget code of the Russian Federation, the document is published on the legal information portal.

The law provides for an increase in the tax burden of Russian oil and gas companies. In particular, the tax on the profits of exporters of liquefied natural gas will be increased by 34% in the period from 2023 to 2025, in the period from January 1 to March 31, 2023, the extraction tax rate of ores for all coal will increase by 380 rubles per ton, except for brown.

The document also provides for Gazprom’s withdrawal of 1.8 trillion rubles in the period from 2023 to 2025 as an additional tax on mineral extraction, or 50 billion rubles a month. The government proposed to increase the mineral extraction tax for Gazprom, and the State Duma approved the relevant amendments on November 10.
