Zen.Novosti was included in the register of news aggregators, Roskomsvoboda found out. The changes to the registry appeared on December 8.
In September, VK bought Yandex’s Novosti and Zen sites. At the same time, Yandex switched to the Delivery Club delivery service, which was previously owned by VK.
The news aggregator registry also includes Novosti@MailRu, Rambler/news and SMI2. According to Roskomsvoboda, before the agreement between Yandex and VK, no changes were made to the registry for five years.
Previously, the Zen platform restored the ability for foreign authors to withdraw funds from content monetization.
