Microsoft is considering integrating OpenAI’s ChatGPT AI bot into its Bing search engine. The IT giant hopes to provide users with more understandable, conversational and contextual answers to queries.
According to Bloomberg, Microsoft hopes to “poach” Google users with new Bing features.
The company plans to introduce an additional feature in the coming months, but is still evaluating the accuracy of the chatbot and how quickly it can be integrated into the search engine.
An agency source notes that “the initial release may be limited to testing a small group of users.”
According to The Information, Microsoft has been testing the capabilities of ChatGPT “for several months.”
In late 2019, OpenAI announced a partnership with Microsoft, the corporation investing a billion dollars in an AI startup.
ChatGPT went public last November and has gained millions of users. The chatbot impressed with its ability to generate everything from cooking recipes and school essays to programming codes.
