Sber will start full-scale tests in early February payment label, said the press service of the bank. Alfa-Bank also announced the launch of its own stickers.

In mid-December, Tinkoff was the first to issue a payment tag with contactless payment functionality.

Sberbank and Alfa-Bank, following Tinkoff, will issue payment stickers for smartphones

“The payment tag allows you to make a payment with a single touch. First of all, iPhone owners who are used to making contactless payments need the technology,” Sberbank said in a statement.

Now at Sberbank, iPhone owners can make such payments using a QR code, but the payment tag technology should extend this ability to more customers.

The sticker is attached to the iPhone and looks like a normal bank card, but several times smaller. The user must break the part intended for fixing, remove the protective layer and stick the label on the back of the smartphone; the bank recommends doing it at the bottom so that the NFC antenna does not interfere with the tag.

There are no card numbers or codes confirming transactions on the label. You can pay with a sticker wherever there is a terminal for contactless payments. It also allows you to withdraw cash from ATMs with contactless authorization.

The tag is a variant of the Mir debit SberCard, therefore the parameters for its use are similar: SberThanks bonuses are given for purchases, and the service is free if you spend more than 5,000 rubles a month on the card. You can set a PIN code, set spending limits and transaction limits, or block the tag if you lose it.

Testing with the participation of customers will begin in the near future, they will be attended by 100 thousand people. Based on the results, Sber will decide whether to introduce the payment stickers in the business operation. The bank undertakes to inform about how to become a tester of the service additionally.

Alfa-Bank also announced the launch and delivery of its own payment stickers. The first 5,000 people will receive them for free, the lending institution said. Stickers are issued on the basis of the Mir payment system.

In December, Tinkoff issued a payment tag. Also Tinkoff Pay has contactless payment functionality, attached to a smartphone or case. The company called it an alternative to Apple Pay.
